Always keen to encourage cooking at any age we were delighted to be one of the sponsors for the St George’s School Lunchtime Challenge, one of the highlights of the Lower School calendar.
All girls from The Remove (Year7) were invited to take part in the initial heats where they had to make and a present a sandwich using any ingredients they wished.
Eight finalists were chosen to take part in the competition on 22nd April where they had two hours to prepare a two course lunch for four people from scratch.
The standard of all the entries was exceptionally high as you can tell from the photos below. The judges, including Wendy Barrie of the award winning Scottish Food Guide, did manage to pick a winner, tough as it obviously was.
Heartiest congratulations to winner Olivia whose hand crafted Chicken and Mango Pizza and vibrant and colourful Cobb Salad triumphed!
